Natalja Wehmer is working at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) on issues related to sustainable urbanisation in the region.
Her special interests include community organisation, multi-stakeholder urban governance, low-income housing and climate resilient cities.
Prior to working for the UN, among other things, she has been active as a civic educator for the German think tank Institute for Prospective Analyses. She holds Master degrees in Sociology and European Studies from the University of Edinburgh and the College of Europe respectively.
At the High-Level Seminar, she hopes to learn more about ASEAN plans for engaging with cities and to network as well as to present the Urban SDG Knowledge Platform that ESCAP is initiating jointly with CityNet and Seoul Metropolitan Authority.
