Dr. Do Nam Thang, Deputy Director General of Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Viet Nam

Dr. Do Nam Thang is Deputy Director General of Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. He is also Operational Focal Point of Global Environment Facility (GEF) Vietnam. He is in charge of ASEAN and multilateral cooperation, including those in climate change and environmentally sustainable cities. He has led national research projects, including assessing environmental co-benefits of climate change mitigation policy, reviewing economic instruments in law on environmental protection for its revision, eco-health approach application in Vietnam, environmental market-based instruments in environmental management, air pollution damage valuation, and national park valuation.

Do Nam Thang holds a PhD in Environmental Economics from the Australian National University, a Masters in Environmental Management and Development from the same university, and a Bachelors in Environmental Engineering from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, Canada.
